Yeah, it sounds a lot like "pixels" instead of "pictures" to me. I think this song is at least partly about the Christian proverb about it being easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. There is a lot of religious imagery. "Where all the buildings work" would be a really cool, weird way to describe heaven. "the gate" would be the pearly gates of heaven, obviously. "water...lake..." made me think of baptism. "burning tongues." could be a reference to the idea of speaking in tongues. "I don't want to be a light you wear around your wrist" made me think of jesus jewelry. Just a thought. Either way, this song is fucking great just like everything else BVS did. |
