I believe that some have you have missed how often Kevin Barnes focuses on the pain people cause each other. I get the feeling that this is about being involved with someone who is unintentionally emotionally abusive. "Coquet Coquette, you know I won't forget How you made me cry to prove I was beautiful" I don't think the sex matters in this song all that much, but say this is a man's feelings about a woman. I think that the man experienced a time that he only felt like his emotions were important to her when the woman hurt him enough that he could only express it in a way that she couldn't ignore. |
