this song is paralyzing.. when it comes on, when i'm at work listening to itunes, or at home, listening to my xbox360 playlist, i just am forced to stop whatever i am doing and go numb with it..
radiohead is truly remarkable and unlike anything i've ever heard, and like the veyr first post says, the only thing i can relate them to would be pink floyd.. or portishead.. and i don't mean their sound or their lyrics, just the fact that they are completely original and nothing else compares to the distant and different sounds and words they produce.. completely and totally anesthetizing |

this is clearly about how superficial everything is. he talks about being broken polystyrene, which is basically Styrofoam. and i do agree with marston20 about the plastic surgeon, it only makes sense with all the other references that everything is fake, and i think his meaning is that it is all wearing thin, it all corrodes and disappears over time, we need to do something that sticks, something that won't fade with time, but everything does... |

this song is actually about a book by hermann hesse called siddhartha. it is about a boys journey through asceticism and enlightenment. very good book. and this song is a wonderful interpretation through a musical journey that cannot be compared with anything... except the book that brought the idea. you can find an interview with thom that tells you how he got the idea. like every other radiohead song, just beautiful |
