After studying this song I have, personnally, concluded that he is singing about a lost love. The woman he is singing about was his asylum, a safe place or haven. 'don't you know I'm love with wasn't ready for asylum to let go' is stating that he cant handle life without her. This song could possibly be a continuation of 'Inside the Fire', one of Disturbed's other hit songs. |

Atlantis sopposedly suffered its end at the hands of the Greek God Zeus, who flooded it because of the greed and pride of it's people. This song, as I see it, is applying the myth of Atlantis to the reality of todays society. Human greed is fueling global warming through polution which in turn will cause a rise of the worlds water levels. They are conveying the fact that this will bring an end to our perverbial Atlantis if you consider the consequences of our actions. ex. "that which gives life has power to take it right back. ****ing with the ice caps, we gotta push the tide back". 'that which gives life' is water. '****ing with the icecaps' refers to the greenhouse effect, and how it will soon have an effect on our daily lives. |
