| Savage Garden – To The Moon And Back Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I think a lot of people read too deep into it (like suggesting it's about a girl with co-dependency issues or borderline personality disorder). I personally resonate with this song so much. I feel like I am the girl in that song, as I can relate to her immensely. I think it's simply about someone who has been hurt a lot in life & has met someone that is possibly like her in that regard. Or also possibly a person that she feels she can have faith in. A lot of times when we feel incredibly alone & have been hurt a lot in life, we think about escaping to another planet (or another world where we can start over). And I think she has often thought of this, but of course, the journey is all that much better with a companion. | |
| Transister – Flow Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| When I listen to this song, it makes me think of how life is kind of like a river. And oftentimes people will try to fight the natural flow of their life -- maybe by clinging to things such as sadness or things from their past that they haven't been able to let go of. But even if you try to swim against the flow or not let that river carry you at all, everything & everyone else will rush past you. Life still goes on. So to me, she's singing about how she's trying to learn how to let go & just let the flow take her where it takes her. It's both melancholy & hopeful to me. Letting go isn't always a bad thing. | |

This is one of my favorite songs by Enya... However, I wanted to make a note on the lyrics. It sounds to me like she's saying: "As I walk the row, there before me a shadow From another world, where no other can follow. Carry me to my own, to where I can cross over..." And I thought that if she was saying "as I walk the row" she meant she was in a cemetary. She is definitely saying something other than "As I walk there before me a shadow". It also sounds like it could be "as I walk the room". When I hear this song, I think that she is singing about dying & crossing over to the afterlife. She mentions feeling lost & perhaps losing her memories of life. In the end, I get the impression that she has found her way to the other side. To her real "home". |
