| Mr. Bungle – The Air-Conditioned Nightmare Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Okay this might sound crazy, but the way I've always interpreted this song is based of a thing I read a while back that said it was essentially using a nursing home as a metaphor for hell, or at least just comparing the two... | |
| Thrice – Image of the Invisible Lyrics | 14 years ago |

To me, although this song is actually based off of biblical scripture, I think it's more about the Invisible Children in Africa who are being taken from their homes by soldiers at a very young age and forcibly trained to be in their army. "we're more than carbon and chemicals free will is ours and we can't let go" could be about the children being humans and as such, having the right to live their life. "we are the image of the invisible" is a way of saying that we represent the children in the sense that we really are their only voice and the only way their plight can be heard. "we all were lost now we are found" before, no one knew about this but now, news is spreading and a difference is trying to be made. "we are all named and we are all known we know that we'll never walk alone" saying that the children are actual people, and their story is known. because of that, they have the support of most of the planet now. "remove the cancer, take back your souls" in a sense saying to wipe out the problem, and give the kids back their lives. "though all the world may hate us, we are named though shadow overtake us, we are known" again, saying that the children are named and known, despite what they're going through. Those are just a few lyrical examples to sorta convey my thoughts about this song. I'm definitely not saying I'm "right" or this is the "only way it can be" because everyone is entitled to their own interpretation of the music they listen to, and this happens to be mine. Enjoy |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Fiction Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I do agree that it is about suicide, but I don't think it's about him personally committing suicide. Initially, "Nightmare" was going to be a concept album about teens being alone and needing something to connect to (or something like that). Logically, suicide would be a darker part of that overall idea, since many teens do kill themselves because they feel out of place and unloved. In a way, it's like a country singer writing a love song. They may not be in love with anyone when they write it, yet it's still in first person and it sounds like it applies to them personally. This song may be like that? To me, I don't think this is a song about the Rev's death because I don't believe he would've killed himself willingly. But nice argument. I definitely agree that it's about suicide. |

Well first off, he didn't commit suicide. Apparently, he started this a while ago for Pinkly Smooth, and finished it up for Avenged Sevenfold instead. So the lyrics about him "not being with [them]" potentially could have been written years before he actually died. Plus, he said he wouldn't live past *30*. I do agree though that it is creepy, especially how it was originally entitled "Death" and he handed it in a few days before he died. |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Welcome to the Family Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this song is directed at everybody who feels that they have a crappy life. It's almost saying "Your life sucks? Well, ours does too. Welcome to the family." | |

"Another story with a mangled scene It couldn't happen any other way" To me, that almost seems like a cryptic tribute to the Rev. After his death, the band kept saying that he had to die tragically young like that, because since he was a kid at heart, he wasn't meant to grow old and die any other way. Just a thought. |

some people seem to claim this song is about suicide, but I beg to disagree. it's just a trip into the darkest part of a child's nightmare. |

| Pinkly Smooth – Mezmer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think the beauty of Pinkly Smooth was that their songs made no sense to the casual listener. Jimmy probably had something crazy running through his head that would explain this apparent nonsense. Or maybe he wouldn't even know himself. Good luck actually trying to figure out the lyrics to any song other than McFly. | |
