It is an unbelievable personalization of the element of Air and how it is pleading mankind to treat it more respectfully instead of putting it in danger.
Almost all the end songs in the Alchemy index four part end with the respective element directly conveying their thoughts to mankind and Air by far is the most vulnerable and fragile element depicted. Like a sad mother. |

I can't really say but I think it's about the actual story of Atlantis being drowned as told by old. If you look at it that way, most of the supposed metaphors like Horses with Wings and a Big Man just melt down into the legend of Atlantis which is said in legends to have been a very advanced civilization which prospered during the ancient times but was lost after a big flood overtook the city. |

I think because he is drowning in a sea, his tears only adds to the amount of the water/or whatever "digital" is (maybe ones and zeros?). So either his tears are also digital or he is taking the "drowning" analogy literally for a poetic double-entendre. |

I think the chorus part is kind of pointing at the theories of USA's surveillance of their own citizens' electronic (and sometimes maybe even auditory) conversations which escalated post 9/11. |

I think the Irony of how the song ends is that this song is being sung by men who are returning to the earth (being buried inside it by the end of the song).
It says that only after death and loosing all their "worldly" possessions they have finally come to the realization of the utter dominance over and direct connection Earth has on us.
Just as their "Silver Wings" song from the Air segment so beautifully and painfully tries to appeal to man even though it is mankind that is in need of Air and not the other way around. And we are the ones killing the Air with our smoke and pollutants.
