I think the singer is trying to tell a story about change in ones self and how in this case he is changing (emotionally) for the worse. He has basically let all the negatives around him affect his overall outlook on life and he did nothing to stop this. So now he has no joy and resents everyone in his life. I think the point of this song is maybe that YOU can ultimately control who you want/are going to be. Could be completely wrong though. |

I interpret this song as humanity has become something of ignorance and stupid mistakes but the singer realizes this and is not a part of the mistake. And now he's just goin to sit back and watch it all burn so he can make a change and possibly a revolution for a better tomorrow... Very Noah's Ark like. Also there is no "night" at the end of the first lyric. |
