Foo Fighters – Wheels Lyrics

When I was working at an airshow on Pease Air Guard Base in NH yesterday and the day before, the Blue Angels were playing this song as they landed. The sight shaped my feelings on the song. This could very well cover the feelings of flying in a mission or a long flight home. Sometimes flying is exciting and fun, but sometimes it is very taxing on the body and mind. Like a guy who is flying home overseas from war or a guy who is landing after having a combat sortie. It has to suck when you finally land on the ground, to feel like you can relax and get comfortable, and then you called back out to on another mission. Also, it sucks to be a guy who is coming home from a deployment on leave and only has a week until he has to head back until his deployment is over.

Breaking Benjamin – Water Lyrics

I've always thought of this song as a reflection of all of the fuck ups he has had in life, all of the broken promises he's made to himself, how he is drowning in regret, and how he has lost motivation to continue. I have to admit, the song is badass in a Blackhawk. I had it blaring as loud as I could get it to cancel out the sheer amount of noise the blades and engines make (thankfully they were not running on dry). Best part I was flying over water.

Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends Lyrics

My personal twist on the song is that it is about 9/11, or atleast inspired to be about 9/11. Of course, it isn't exactly about 9/11, it is about the Billie Joe and his life as a kid and losing his dad, but considering a few terms and some of the beats of the songs, they're somewhat 9/11 connected and military connected. Like here comes the rain again. It rained a few days after 9/11 and kind of set the mood for America. Falling from the stars is like people jumping from the twin towers. The innocent can never last is the idea that innocent people died, and people lost their innocence. The beats in one of the instrumentals is kind of similar to the 3 Round Volley, used to signify military honor at a military funeral. Also, the same instrumental kind of is like gunshots. In all honesty I believe this song is geniously designed to have two meanings, and is open for interpretation.

Fuel – Shimmer Lyrics

I've always had the personal belief that the song is about being in love with someone out of your league, and it eats away at you has try your best to become hers. "All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade-anything that is good, will never stay that way" means to me that everything in this world you want is worthless without her. "She dreams a champagne dream" means to me how someone can be luxurious to you and dream of better things than you. This applies to my case of having a crush on a girl who is most definately more decent than I am, and has ambitious dreams.

Bush – The Sound of Winter Lyrics

I always think about this song about having the girl has a perfect for you but they can't deal with the high intensity life. The whole sound of winter thing makes think of winds blowing, which is usually a symbol of desolace, which would show a lack of someone being there. Hanging on to yourself sounds to me like being selfish or unwilling to change. Just my take. The beauty of music is that some songs have no definite meaning to everyone.

My presonal meaning for this song is that I really love this girl. She don't know that I love her to death, but I do. I'm so far away from her sometimes(It don't feel good though). She don't see me, atleast thats what I'm worried about. She is too far in my mind to not let out my love for her. I've tried to lately be more approachable so she will notice me a tiny bit more. I really want her to be mine and have nothing in my to getting that. Love u girl, my sexy. This also makes me think of my dream of being a F-22 pilot and be deployed and wanting to come home and having a wife and kids who love me and miss me.(My girl would look great infront of a fighter, and even better with me). I'm only 14, so I don't get a chance at getting a fighter, or a job/college/military.

This song is about, IMO, someone finding attraction in a particular girl, and wondering if it is worth it and thinking of what he wants. Then he goes and says yes mentally. Almost has if another song is supposed to be a continuation of it. Or certain parts of the album being the results if he ask her.

This song has, to me, been about someone trying to stay away from the other bands that were trying to be like deftones, and always being in control of how the entire style of music would survive. Chino was dressed in the video different than what you see other rock bands dress like.
