This site is so outdated. This song is timeless and has nothing to do with a dating relationship that ended. It is much more personal and self reflecting. I can't believe any fan would think that Shaun would need to define himself by any relationship. Also I hate the way this page returns to the top when you post so that you have to look for your place again. |

I don't know for sure, but I the impression that it is about a father shrugging his responsibility and abandoning his kid or it is about a mans lurid attraction to pedophilia and his deep shame at the monster he could become. |

Huh? How can anyone see this as a break up song? There is so much more personal shame and self loathing in these lyrics than could be caused by the end of a relationship. What song are you listening to? |

N0 C0DE 79 has described my own reaction to this song much better than I ever could. I listened to this song on an I-pod and was just blown away. I can remember trying telling those in the room about the amazing song I had just heard. I don't think this is about Amy. I think it's a songwriter trying to use words to describe a deeply personal and disturbing emotion. When I listen to the song, the music and lyrics stir emotions that I would never be able to express so poetically. The song brings me to tears every time. |
