This is my interpretation exactly too! The way i see it, it's about that feeling that hits you sometimes, while being among a lot of people celebrating, probably in couples, of how lonely you really are. For me it's about that deep need to find "your other half", the one with whom you're meant to feel complete and whole, and the desperation that comes with the years passing by and you still not having found it. |

This is my favorite verse of them all as well! It is just so simple but so beautifully delivered! I can't get over the beauty of the ironic but yet truthful line:
"You took your life, as Lovers always do..." as well as the epicness of that one " This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you"...
I also adore the way he integrated the repeated theme of the "starry, starry night" as the final time and space when his "taking his life" happened...beautiful! |

Gee. this song is so sad yet so beautiful and full of power and hope. I couldn't help myself from tearing up while listening to it though i am a relatively new fan of Em so I wasn't familiar with his personal life and people around him. Losing a good friend(or in that case i think "brother" is what suits him most) must be too difficult to handle. I esp. loved the part when he came to Em's dream and told him not to let go... If he had that dream for real(which i guess he did considering he talks about real events of his life) then Proof must have been more than a friend. As he put it himself, he was his guardian angel :( |

LMAO I love this song!!! I read back at the comments and all i see is BLAHBLAHBLAH nonsense..yeah, of courseit has nothing to do with his older stuff ,because it is a funny, relaxed song..CHILL OUT dudes... It also made me laugh to read some comments saying he hasn't matured a bit since his career started.. I wonder if these are the same people that'a re now complaining because he has matured too much and he is not as "crazy" anymore...whatever! I like his side of Em as i like his serious one! :D |

Son Of A B*TCH!!! What a powerful song! I just listened to it after reading some of the comments here but seriously...didn't expect it to be SO descriptive... darn.... em's performance had me on the edge of my seat through the whole song, he put so much emotion to it i could believe he was actually crying when singing it LOL
And i really can't understand those close-minded people hating this song, it is obvious that thats just his way of letting his anger out so that let it out in a much worse way... i dont believe that anyone who got betrayed doesnt relate to this song, it's just that great need of revenge you get when you find out i guess... he could have done without the BLEEED at the end though! LOL
