I totally agree with you. It's the story of their relationship though...how they met...fell in love...first kiss. The last verse I think is years later. He's still in love with her, overwhelmed by the simplest things about her...and they are living their life together; the children waking up for Christmas morning upstairs. It's the happy ending to the fairytale. This song is stunning. |

This site is supposed to be about interpreting the lyrics...there's about a zillion other sites where people can complain about how Sufjan's "changed." Personally, I love it.
