In the verses it sounds like a girl was just using him as a rebound especially in the "Now i got so burned that i learned
not to hear another word that you say" part; but then in the chorus it sounds like he is the one using somebody else; especially with the "I put so many holes in you" part. |

I used to think this song was called Red TIE.
You know how if you are hooking up with someone you put a tie on the door so people know not to go in? I thought it was basically saying "does this relationship have substance or is it just another hookup?" |

I think this song is about a broken girl (or person in general), a self destructive person. He would tear out his eyes and soul for her to see how she views the world so he can try and help her. |

It sounds like a song about a user, especially in the chorus.
Courtney also married someone before Kurt, and I think I read somewhere that he left her a note that said he was divorcing her and it said something like "you got what you want (marriage), but will you ever want it again?" and that could explain the 3rd verse. Also in the 1st verse, it says "You should learn when to go/You should learn how to say "no"" and she should have said no to the marriage to the guy. |
