So I know I mentioned this earlier but a friend was talking about how she used to love this song and then she found out that it is about rape and now it kinda freaks her out. So now that I heard that it makes you wonder, especially since so many people get the interpretation that it is about a rememberence of a passionate night and wanting to be with the one you love. But at the same time people are thinking it is about drugs and harsh painful stuff.. So I mean, what other explaination is there? It's talking about all this pain and burning and saltwater in your eyes so like the tears and pain and anger from it. And being a sleepyhead is this person just finally giving in and is too exhausted to fight it anymore. And then when it says "they couldn't think of something to say the day you burst" talks about how weird it is when somebody finally snaps because they can't handle that kind of trauma on their own, yet nobody knows what to do or say about it. So it is a really grim explaination for such an upbeat and great sounding song but I can't helpbut agree with my friend. I definitly think that's what it is about. |

I actually heard somewhere that this song is about rape. So that's actually pretty ironic that this is the song that happened to... I'm super sorry about that. But it does kind of show the parallels.. |

I think the lyrics are right actually. It would make most sense for her to say that he does magic like Houdini since Houdini was a famous magician and I'm pretty sure that she is saying grants wishes just because it definitly sounds like that. It's a good thought though! |
