This song is about touring. I know from experience that there are nights when your van is broken down in some backwoods hick town in the Midwest, and you are making tons of calls trying to get a tow truck in the middle of the night, and you spend hours just sitting there with the only friends you have in the world because you spend 90% of your life in the back of a van, that you begin to question where you went wrong and if it's worth it. You reflect on broken relationships and all the money you COULD be making. Hence the line "freedom comes with a price- but holy shit who fucking cares?". |
