@ nothingsacred, if your a die hard stp fan like me i suggest you read mary's book.. its VERY good and practically all about scott weiland.. you may get some new clarity and as for the meaning, sometimes i dont even think scott weiland knows exactly what hes writing about. So many STP songs seem to have double meanings ( plush, atlanta, i got you, crackerman, big empty etc ) i believe,weiland's lyrical writings are about the pain he is feeling and not about a certain source, like he may start off writing about his father leaving him and while writing find inspiration from his divorce and losing his brother at the same time while still writing a song about his father and mesh it all together because in the end it all gives him the same feeling of loss and loneliness anyways.. if you catch my drift here.. i believe this song is just about the feeling of pain and feeling of someone leaving you in general more than it is about a particular source |

perhaps a song only the die hard fans know... anyways AMAZING track!!! as far as the "jail theories" go i'd certainly have to agree... it's about SCOTT WEILAND MADNESS from being in an small empty 4 corner room completely alone... nobody but yourself, having to deal with the voices in your head, the withdrawals, and the nights where you cant sleep scott weiland has said in interview that when hes in jail its very hard for him not to commit suicide because it makes him that miserable |

| ^^ no she doesnt trash him, however the book is VERY revealing of his personal life and i could see how that could upset scott. It's his personal life and struggles now for america to read. although a very very good book ( defintly a must own for all you die hard STP fans on here ), one could make the case that mary comes across as overly obsessive over scott weiland. The book is basically about scott. going into how scott weiland relapsed what seems like a million times, seriously its so bad how many times this guy has relapsed, death of his brother nor his kids have inspired this guy to get sober yet, he will have problems for the rest of his life.. and if this was in a book for everyone to read, hey id be pissed too just like you scott | |

according to mary weilands book ( weilands ex wife ) scott weiland had been sober from hard drugs for about maybe a little over a year through the 2006-2007 period .. to her knowledge at least.. anyways in the book says mary was waiting for scott to come home and he came home really late and woke her up to tell her that on his way back home from the studio he had witnessed a cocaine sell and ended up doing himself ... and he confessed it it to her that same night and asked her for help... that and another thing led to them filing for divorce about a month later anyways i believe that incident of scott scoring that coke that night had some inspiration for this song... seeing as this album has alot of songs about mary and this incident is one of the straws that broke the camels back |
