The Gaslight Anthem – Get Hurt Lyrics 10 years ago
Tried to fix the lyrics a few times, and nothing has happened. Here's the real deal:

Sometimes I wake up in the morning
Sometimes I dream some more

I keep my wounds without a bandage, baby
As I come stumbling through the door

To spend my nights in dislocation
Talking to spirits on the floor

I think I came to find the feeling, baby
Between what was mine and what was yours

And I came to get hurt,
Might as well do your worst to me, yea-yeah
Have you come here to get her?
Have you come to take away from me, from me, from me
Might as well do your worst to me

I think I'm gonna move to California (I think it's time to move)
Mama, can you say a pray for me? (Say a prayer for me)
I heard they don't get so low down, (All my friends get so low)
I heard they never bleed,
Not like we bleed

I came to get hurt,
Might as well do your worst to me, yea-yeah
Have you come here to get her?
Have you come to take away from me, from me, from me
Might as well do your worst to me

And it gets pretty lame
And the stations would change
And the things once in order
Now seem so strange,
Once I could tell all the hurt apart from myself
Now all I can see is the need,
The need.

I came to get hurt,
Might as well do your worst to me, yea-yeah
Have you come here to get her?
Have you come to take away from me
From me, from me
Might as well do your worst to me

And maybe you needed a change,
And maybe I was in your way
And maybe some things they stay
And some things go away
Maybe I was mine, and maybe you were not the same!

The Menzingers – Mexican Guitars Lyrics 12 years ago
I don't think it's so much about how a lot of things remind him about his passed friend. It seems to be just that song they learned that reminded him. I get the feeling that the song is more about him remembering his old friend, and then it's almost as if he's trying to run away from the painful memories.

M83 – Intro [Feat. Zola Jesus] Lyrics 13 years ago
We didn't need a story, we didn't need a real world
We just had to keep walking
And we became the stories, we became the places
We were the lights, the deserts, the faraway worlds
We were you before you even existed

To me, this sounds like the stars speaking, in a way. I read once that, when you get down to it, we are all particles of stars. "We were you before you even existed" seems to illustrate this point perfectly.

Regardless of what it means, this is an incredibly amazing song.

The only thing I can think of other than to cover another tattoo is to cover either track marks or scars.
