Bruce Springsteen – She's the One Lyrics 15 years ago

We could think she's a woman who plays with guys.
May be all she gives them is some french kisses.
Because no boy can fill her secret places might refer to sexual things.

She just want to turn them on.
The problem is that he's addicted to her.
He tries to escape, he sleeps and runs far from her, but she remains the one.
That's why his boots are aching and her french cream won't soften them.

He wants to break on through : it can mean he wants to enter her mind and face the truth.
(the truth is behind the angel in her eyes, the angel being the hope he sees in such a beautiful look)
It can also be sexual.

But despite her killer graces, she won't break him.
Because despite his bitterness, he will keep trying again and again to get her.

Bruce Springsteen – Dancing In The Dark Lyrics 15 years ago
the gun's for hire is :

a little help from someone (I could use just a little help)

and/or

Knowing that "There's something happening somewhere"
cause when you are aware of this, you can go and search for it

and/or

a love reaction : being in love with someone can give you wings for a better life

------------------------------------------

You can't start a fire without a spark : the gun gives the spark

The spark gives the fire

The fire gives you warmness and light (makes your life more comfortable)

------------------------------------------

Even if we're just dancing in the dark :

The fire you get might not be the biggest fire ever.
BUT
the dark is better than the black
at least in the dark, you are able to dance. The amount of light you get from your fire (this good thing happening in your life) makes you feel better.

Basically, may be you won't have a wonderful life even if you try something, but chances are your life is gonna be better. So it is worth it !

Bruce Springsteen – Darkness on the Edge of Town Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about a man who lost his money and his wife because of his addiction to gambling.
His wife did not share his passion ( that blood never run in her veins) and dumped him.
Now he is homeless or something and he does not feel that bad because that's the cost to pay for wanting things that can only be found in the darkness on the edge of town :

He can't stop gambling. It dragged him down, or rather up that hill where he's lined with other gamblers, probably because it is the best spot to watch the races they bet on.
The cost is losing the girl and the beautiful house.
The racing and gambling sports are the things you find in the darkest parts of town.

Anyway, he can't stop. So the pleasure he gets from his addiction makes him not matter much about what he had in his former life.
He carries on : loses or gets dreams depending on whether he wins or not.
