| this song is haunting. i agree that there's a religious message, but for some reason i interpret it more like he's talking directly to God, asking him why he gave him all this knowledge about the evil in the world, when he could be a happy go lucky drunkard or something of the sort. "I chose water over wine". i just interpreted it in a way that related more to me i guess, but the last verse throws me for a loop. beautiful melody, though. | |
