I heard this song last summer, and I never forget how much it hurts when I realized that I love my boyfriend (at the time) only to find out that a week after my realization, he broke up with me. This song reminds me of that third day I tried to get up, leave the house for a walk. It was a nice sunny day and this song just brings me back to that moment. I was in pain and misery and I was missing him but there's some feeling of emptiness there. that feeling just hunts me each time. |

I agree with driftingspirit I think it's about a lover named Jane who passed away. My name is Jane I'd like this song to be played on my funeral. lol. I also think it could be about an ex lover named Jane, who possibly moved away or broke up with him and wouldn't want to have anything to do with him (which often happens after a relationship has died). This song definitely reminds me of that time my ex broke up with me. It's a sad sickening feeling, all you do is just reflect on that person... it's sad. |

yeah I interpreted it that way too asking someone or yourself why is it hard to make arrangements with yourself when you're young enough to repay (old enough to stay in a committed, give-and-take relationship) but also young enough sell (young enough to sell out your relationship by taking the easy way out and breaking it off) Tell me lies later, come and see me I'll be around for a while. **** i think it's about waiting for someone to make a decision whether they'll stay or go. I am lonely but you can free me All in the way that you smile **** I think this part is knowing and being sad about the fact that the relationship could possibly end (since she's having a hard time making arrangements to herself) but also knowing that the only person who could make you happy is the person who's about to break your heart. on a sidenote: I think this song says a lot about people who are having a hard time what to feel or how act when something they thought they wanted is right in front of them... like when everyone says they wanted to be love but when someone tells them they love them, they freak out and leave the people who told them they love them. |

I think this song is about him getting dumped. I get the sense that the breakup was not mutual, at least not on his side (since he says he couldn't get over how she set him free) The song just describes the feeling you get when you lost someone you never want to lose. it reminds me of the time my bf (now ex-bf) broke up with me and I wasn't happy about it. it was around fourth of July "everyone is out having fun" and I was just home moping around "I couldn't get over how he set me free." I was losing hope thinking of ways "I could get rid of the blues and find someone new" and since he broke up with me I thought he's out there "fancy free, flirting with the girls with all her charms" (even if he isn't the type who does that) and in the end i knew in the back of my head that "I still love him and would still take him back" I really think it's the song that epitomizes situations where someone you love and they suddenly rejects you or breaks up with you. |
