Veuve Clicquot is really expensive brand of champagne and Jessica Rabbit is a voluptuous cartoon rabbit from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" The "Promise I'll never see Arthur or Bobby, baby" lyric is another Marilyn Monroe reference. Bobby is probably referring to Bobby Kennedy and I think Arthur is referring to Marilyn's third husband, playwright Arthur Miller. I think the whole song is about a relationship akin to Marilyn Monroe's supposed relationship with President John F. Kennedy; the guy in the song has all the power and she's fascinated by this and wants him to love her like a woman, not like a schoolgirl. She's trying to prove that she's a woman to I think both the listener and to the guy ("It's not puppy love; this is not a schoolgirl thing;" etc.). |

These are pretty messed up...I'm not 100% on all of them but this is what I hear: It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love You make me want to be like one of those girls From the 1950s wearing those big pearls I'll cook you breakfast Coffee on your desk, yes? I might burn your toast but baby I'm still the bestest It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love You make me want to be like one of those girls On the color TV, it was a new world The Dick Van Dyke Show We're Cher and Bono The way I sing "I Got You Babe" Makes you say "Oh no" 'Cause you're the class president without Jackie O. While I'm singing "Happy Birthday" like Marilyn Monroe (One) This is not a school girl crush (No, two) This is not puppy love (Uh uh!) It's the real thing and you told me you loved me Promise I'll never see Arthur or Bobby, baby (One) This is not a school girl thing (No, two) What about the diamond ring? Everyone knows I'm like Jessica Rabbit I'm your leading lady I've gotta have it, baby It's not puppy love, Puppy, puppy, puppy love It's not puppy love, Puppy, puppy, puppy love You make me want to be like one of those girls Calendar pin-up queen with platinum curls I'll do my summer pose Golden sand between my toes You can pack my favorite snack of Veuve Clicquot with Ho-Ho's You're everybody's hero and you're hitting it home While I'm singing for the soldiers like Marilyn Monroe (One) This is not a school girl crush (No, two) This is not puppy love (Uh uh!) It's the real thing and you told me you loved me Promise I'll never see Arthur or Bobby, baby (One) This is not a school girl thing (No, two) What about the diamond ring? Everyone knows I'm like Jessica Rabbit I'm your leading lady I've gotta have it, baby And if I call you on the telephone I might overdose 'Cause I'm strong but I'm lonely like Marilyn Monroe This is not a school girl crush This is not puppy love It's the real thing and you told me you loved me Whatever happened to hold me and trust me, baby? (One) This is not a school girl crush (No, two) This is not puppy love (Uh uh!) It's the real thing and you told me you loved me Promise I'll never see Arthur or Bobby, baby (One) This is not a school girl thing (No, two) What about the diamond ring? Everyone knows I'm like Jessica Rabbit I'm your leading lady I've gotta have it, baby It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love It's not puppy love Puppy, puppy, puppy love |

I can be selfish, yeah so impatient Sometimes I feel like Marilyn Monroe I'm insecure, yeah I make mistakes Sometimes I feel like I'm at the end of the road I can get low, I can get low Don't know which way is up Yeah I can get high, I get high Like I could never come down Call it a curse, or just call me blessed If you can't handle my worst you ain't gettin' my best Is this how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Must be how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt It's like all the good things, they fall apart Like Marilyn Monroe Truth is we mess up till we get it right I don't wanna end up losing my soul I can get low, I can get low Don't know which way is up Yeah I can get high, I get high Like I could never come down Call it a curse, or just call me blessed If you can't handle my worst you ain't gettin' my best Is this how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Must be how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Take me or leave me I'll never be perfect Believe me, I'm worth it So take me or leave me Take me or leave me Call it a curse, or just call me blessed If you can't handle my worst you ain't gettin' my best Is this how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Must be how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Is this how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt Must be how Marilyn Monroe felt, felt, felt, felt |

| lolol relax you guys. She's just being ironic, saying she can't speak German the singing it in a French accent. During the second chorus she says "I don't speak German but I wish I could" in a British accent. She's just having fun, not trying to be cool. Besides, the song is about being a strong woman, not about how well she speaks German. | |

| Arkitekt – 14 Days Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Anyway as to the meaning of the song, it seems pretty clear to me that it's about a recovering addict who relapses. The lyrics seems to hint that the drug is heroin ("It never felt like it would STICK, and that's the pun, see). The addict is ashamed of their relapse ("You shouldn't see this," "I don't want this") but they can't figure out how to fix themselves. It should be noted that the song is actually called "14 Days (Acoustic Version)" and was originally released on Arkitekt's 2009 album "Tonelist" under the title "Pacing A/V." Amazing song that makes me cry every time; can't believe so few people have heard of it. | |

| it should be "I just can't stand now" instead of "I just can't stand out." | |
