| That was awesome. Thanks for posting that and for telling us about the 911 connection. That was a great interpretation. | |

That's really good! She's a ghost and she's trying to communicate with the one she loves. The person still living starts crying because he/she feels the presence of the ghost. So the she (the ghost) says "I know you can hear me. I can taste it in your tears." But that could also apply to my choking scenario (way after your post)... She's choking and trying to plead for him to stop killing her. She says to him, "I know you can hear me. I can taste it in your tears." He's crying because he's so upset that she would try to leave him. Beware... some guys are really f*cking crazy. This is fun. |

I wrote the above post. After thinking some more, I decided that it's not that Amy is necessarily suicidal (even though she probably is). It's just that, after you've been terrorized by your boyfriend for hours, and he's throwing you around and choking you, you eventually get the point of, "God, please just let me die. I can't take anymore of this." So he's choking her, and she's falling into unconsciousness and finally feeling safe inside herself, hoping it will be over soon. I also like the interpretation above about Amy's sister dying. That's a good one (better than mine, lol.) |

| I tend to think that this song is about domestic violence. Amy went to break up with Ben and he attacked her and started choking her. Since she's suicidal anyway, she's hoping that she'll die. Even though he's trying to kill her, she's "safe inside myself, holding my last breath", which is how you feel when you're dying from strangulation. I know, it's morbid, but I like to read all of their songs from the viewpoint of a violent relationship. She's mentioned being raped in other songs, so I assume that she's been in some violent situations during her life. | |
