This song is about drug rehab, and the 13th step (relapse). The nonsencical lines are there to protray how worthless 12 step programs are because you will allways end up where you started. Phil has said before that he does not attend 12 step programs because they dont work for him. |

i think the meaning to this song is simple. Dont fake your life inhale it. in other words be who you are and dont feel ashamed of it, dont follow society but create your own society. as you all kno Phil was very anti- society. |

As you know Phil was not the biggest fan of the African American Community.
When he says: Can't leave the scar. You cry for compensation. I ask you please just give us... i think he is talking about some of the African American Community that take advantage of the system. They are allways screaming for compesation for the many years of slavery. Later he says: You used complexion of my skin for a counter Rascist tool. -You can't burn me- I've spilled my guts out In the past. Taken advantage of because you know where I've come [from]. My past. i think he is talking about the same thing here but is talking about how u can no longer be proud to be white without being considered racist. and talking about how their community takes advantage of white people because our past actions are public knoledge know by everybody. And i think he is making a statement that he dosnt put up with it because everybody knows his ancestors past. i do know that the lawsuit he faced had a part to play but in my opninon this is the real meaning of the song. i dont think he came out and said what it was really about because of the public backlash. |
