I love this song, probably close to my favourite on the CD... less big words and more exclamation marks << Love this line. Such a tragedy though, each time I've seen them they don't play it :( |

Totally agree with cutoutcloud...this song always makes me think of mothers... oh, you can watch it when you get a bit older but for now in the bad bits, I should cover your eyes she painted pictures with the tips of her fingers sewing buttons to Bambi, tying strings to a kite Seems like hes describing a mother. |

Judging by the music video for this song it leads me to believe the song is about kids being bullied, it seems to make sense to me anyways when I compare the lyrics to the meaning. Ex: All the boys who called their mothers on that day Were no tough bunch but they had the nerves to go and say That all your secrets were drowned With the pioneers who were flooded from this town They packed their bags only moments too late With the pounding waves crashing up against the weakened water gates These particular lyrics seem to mean (to me anyways) that a kid is being bullied and some of his friends have the guts to go and tell their parents (which is tough for little kids) hence having "the nerve to go and say", "secrets being drowned" referring to the boys secret of being bullied is now out in the open, "packing their bags moments too late," I assume refers to parents not arriving in time to stop a fight?? |
