the guy on the plane wanting it to crash for sure has to be correct. i do get the feeling that the guy doesnt really want to commit suicide he just wants to feel what its like going through the experience of a plane going down. since its just something he wants to feel he doesnt want to kill everyone on board with his wishing and hoping but decides it doesnt matter because eventually the young children (which are the only ones he feels guilty about killing) on the plane will become jaded adults. i like the connection with another song on the record where he says he's always died in his dreams because he mentions a dream in this song and in it he dies as well. also i think the pompeii reference has to be what will happen to the bodies when they are burned at such a high temperture when the plane crashes. | i feel that he's talking about someone who lives in their imagination too much. when he closes his eyes he's making things up in his head hence the movie screens. i think there is a point though where the character realizes he cant keep living in this world where his imagination is reality so he talks himself into accepting reality. he really wants to stay in this world where his imagination is king but he doesn't want to be remembered as this person who always lived in the clouds. instead of day dreaming and living in his imagination he goes and does something real with his time. kind of sad though to think someone has to grow up and get rid of their imagination because life comes knocking. | |

| it sounds like the song is about him leaving someone all the time. he seems to hiding pieces of his body on the person so that he has a reason to come back. He's leaving a trail of his own body parts back to the person. he seems to be dealing with the effects of missing apendages and people looking at him but he doesn't care because he only feels complete when he's with the person he left behind. when he gets back to that person he will be able to get the body parts back and be complete again. | |
