Lady GaGa – Million Reasons Lyrics 9 years ago
To me, this song is from the perspective of a person at the final straws of their Christian faith. They have so many reasons to give up on religion, become an atheist etc. but they want to keep on believing for whatever reason. They find themselves pleading to God for just one shred of proof or reason to stay, but nothing comes. This is about as plain an anti-religion song can get.

And if you're wondering about the more romantic language, I think that was written there just to add some ambiguity, but it doesn't compromise the message, as oftentimes Christians use romantic language to describe their relationship with God (I would know, I was one)

Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about denial. Perhaps over a broken relationship, or a bad grade, or even a death. We (As humans) have a habit of 'holding on to what we haven't got'. This song is about moving on, accepting the truth, and living the rest of your life. But this is hard, as M. Shinoda said, 'the hardest part of ending is starting again.' this is true, and even so, we need to move on, otherwise we may never be the same

Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics 15 years ago
I, as a Christian, believe that a war is only worth fighting to defend the country. I believe that people shouldn't declare war, but that they should be ready to meet the enemy at the gates.

The first incident, "...pissed on his hands..." is saying that you shouldn't be cruel to anyone. Even the enemy has feelings, why else would they be fighting you? Both sides are just obeying commands, it is really the commanders who are the good/evil ones, not the soldiers.

The second incident, the woman running through the battlefield, is an unavoidable mistake of killing an innocent messenger. Sure, it isn't necessarily wrong, because you didn't mean to do it, but these incidents are what makes war so terrible.

I love playing games like COD and other FPS's, but these do not convince me that war is at all fun or good. In fact, they convince me otherwise, because i know that war has no respawn.

It could be interpreted both ways, see my comment below to see the other way

I mostly agree with you about this one

This is my interpretation:

I see it as a social outcast (nerd or emo) who had spent many years of holding on to his anger (like rejections and no friends) and this is a song which lets out all of his anger. The line "hand full of complains but i cant help that everyone can see these scars" suggests that he might've done something really embarrassing or bad, and that's the only reason people remember him by, the only thing they see.

It is also a love-hate song, directed to a girl who doesn't understand that the guy likes her, and always ignores him, and this song is his confrontation to the girl, and everyone else who ignored him before

Anyway, that's my interpretation.

30 Seconds to Mars – This Is War Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this makes more sense to the case of Jasonjason's comment above about the
the leader is a soldier
the pariah is a civillian
the victor is a martyr
the messiah is a victim

this makes a lot more sense to me

I think that it was a good thing that this song was chosen for the soundtrack of Spider Man 2, because the song and movie match really well, as Peter is deciding if he wants to save people, or be a quiet normal person
