When she woke up She didn't remember anything of the night before, "too many beers" -she said- when she saw my head next to hers, on the pillow and I kissed her again. But it wasn't yesterday anymore, but tomorrow. And an indecent Sun, like a thief came in through the window. The day that she arrived she had red rings under her eyes and mud on her heels. Nude, but strangers, we were seen by the deceit of the night, plain day light it was time to leave and she left without saying: "call me sometime". From the balcony I saw her get lost, in the movement of the big city. Chorus: And life went on, like things that don't make much sense go on, once a common friend told me that he saw her where oblivion is. The pupil recognized a red traffic light, a back pack, a Peugeot and those nearsighted eyes and the galloping blood through my veins and a cloud of sand inside the heart and this roll of love with no appetite. The kisses I didn't get for not knowing how to say "I need you" Chorus |

It's been too many months since my goofiness invites you to laugh. It's not that I'm not interested but the time for kisses and sweat is the time to go to sleep. It hurts to see you going through the little box of ashes that the pleasure has left behind. Poorly and late I'm living up to the oath I made, when I swore to write you a song. A sad and envious God punished us for climbing together to the tree and getting lost in the flower of passion, for trying that flavor. Chorus: Water puts out fire and flame [as in passion], the years "Love" is the name of the game in which two blind people play by hurting each other. And each time it gets worse and each time they're more broken And all the time more you And all the time more me And no sign of "us". Not innocent nor guilty hearts destroyed by the storm canon meat. It's not me, or you, or anybody it's the miserable fingers that wind my watch. And there's no ammount of tears that can take us back into the car where that night in the middle of the carnival I began to undress you. Chorus |

Saddest story about him falling for a girl he met in a bar where he played. She flirts with him and they go back to a hotel. He leaves her town and when he comes back the following year, as soon as his concert's over, he goes back to the same bar looking for her. To find what? A branch of the Spanish-American Bank! He -in his own words- avenges her memory throwing stones at the windows. Story ends with the police arresting him while he yells "I know it wasn't a dream!" As dramatic as it sounds here the song is really entertaining and yet another masterpiece of Joaquin Sabina's work! |

"TenÃan razón mis amantes en eso de que, antes, el malo era yo, con una excepción: esta vez, yo querÃa quererla querer y ella no." Meaning "My lovers were right saying that before, the bad guy was me, with a single exception: this time I wanted to want to love her but she didn't." GENIUS!!!!!!!! |

Song says, they (he and a girl) were dating but she had a bad drug problem and that's what finally made him break up with her because he couldn't deal with it anymore. "Entre la cirrosis y la sobredosis andas siempre, muñeca" meaning: In between Cirrhosis and overdose is where you always are, doll |
