that would make a lot of sense, but if I'm not mistaken, this is one of Rice's songs. It was originally titled "The Way Down" There's a video of him singing it (W jenny) in 2007. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKPbjGQKCAI Could still obviously be about Jenny since they know each other sooooo well. Also, the lyric back then that is now "The money started rolling in, you stopped having any fun" was: "and now you're rich on texas steam, you're not having any fun" (Texas steam may have something to do with railroads or trains or i might just have heard it totally wrong.) I thought that line might be where they got the title from, but after reading a lot of interviews I realized the title came from a bumper sticker that said "I'm having fun now" on the back of one of their newly purchased station wagons. (They have a few vintage station wagons, so cute!) |

| simply masochism. Awesomely worded and very cool voice and metaphor for this song. No one can describe why it really is that they continue to want more weight, more pain, more complications in their life. This person is content with just being where he is in life, not wandering to find something more, he knows he wants confinement and likes getting what he expects. Nothing more, nothing less. | |

I read somewhere that John said this song is about an actual night where a bunch of people on the tour took Psychedelics and a lot of imagery in the song was inspired by that.. He said that someone actually threw their shirt into the fire. Very cool imagery here, I guess that is where all these Aztec inspired colors and "Paper Bag Lieutenants" and "Imaginary vampire bats" come from. Also, for those who don't know a lot about who J and J tour with, "Farmer Dave" Scher is a good friend and band member who tours with Jenny (and John tours with her so there are connections there) John said that night everything turned all cartoon-y and slow moving, so this song i'd like to think mirrors that with its repetitiveness as well as the imagery. |

| Basically about a relationship gone wrong... and no way to fix it.. Best send off line-- "all the best of luck with your career" and I love how it just ends. Kind of like how you have to end things when a relationship is going bad. Seems like the person is wrestling with their own demons "I cannot get stoned no more..." "I get claustrophobic even when..." and they keep just disagreeing on things. Very good perspective in this song. I like how the perspective of the song can change, when there are two singing. Its kind of like a conversation. | |

I like how you can see a pattern with their music like what they are interested in at the time shapes their album, so cool.
