No comment? This is seriously one of the best songs on this album. What I interpret this song to be about personally is depression. We've all been there where we lose a friend or loved one and we kinda lose faith and believe "making friends is never logical" because we dont want to feel the pain of loss. I think the song is about Chris sitting in his room or on his bed just thinking about life. "My thoughts are logical in my bedroom." He's alone and he can make impersonal decisions regarding why hes upset or depressed. I think the part about tossing the body to the sea is him letting go of the friend or loved one. Hes letting realization sink in and deciding to let go because he doesn't need the anxiety of feeling upset. Or maybe he realized that the friend wasnt really a friend at all "I know who you are, dirty yellow star." Of course thats just my interpretation. |

This song is about cheating, but instead of hayley being the one cheated on she is the one cheating (if that makes sense to yall.) "No sir well I don't wanna be the blame, not anymore. It's your turn, so take a seat, we're settling the final score..." the gf (or wife) found out and they're arguing over whos fault it is. Most of the time the wife is mainly mad at the other woman instead of the guy... "And why do we like to hurt so much? I can't decide...You have made it harder just to go on and why all the possibilities Well, I was wrong." They got into the relationship thinking it was just gonna be for sex or something and they fell in love(maybe the guy said professed his love to her?), and now she is having a harder time letting go.. and is thinking of all the possibilities they may have,(marriage, a real relationship etc...)but at the same time is using her head "well, i was wrong..." the chorus "That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa. That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa. I drowned out all my sense with the sound of its beating. And that's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa." she didnt listen to logic and now things have gone to hell because she did start this relationship that shouldnt have happened. Now shes hurt. "I wonder how am I supposed to feel when you're not here, Cause I burned every bridge I ever built when you were here... I still try holding onto silly things, I never learn. Oh why, all the possibilities... I'm sure you've heard" The guy currently isnt with her anymore, but shes "burned all the bridges" AKA alienated friends, lied, and ruined a lot over this "relationship". She still thinks it may have a chance which is why shes "holding on to silly things" like her feelings about him even though she knows its dumb "i never learn..." then it goes into the chorus. The bridge is inviting pain because she DID see it coming and it seems like she does stupid things on purpose and likes the pain a little? She needs to stop using her heart to think "if i ever think straight...." but if she does she wonders what her heart will do. This song is about her relationship with Chad, its simple as that. He and Hayley had an affair and this is basically the story of it. |
