| Muse – Madness Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| As a quick note, I read the lyrics on Muse's official site and instead of Matt singing "I need to love", he actually says "I need YOUR love". I know it doesn't seem like that big a change, but to me changing the word "to" to "your" kind of gives the song a different meaning at the end where he is still longing for this person he's with. | |
| Maroon 5 – Misery Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
"It's not that I didn't care It's that I didn't know" - I think these lines are referring to him being him in denial at first of his real feelings. I kind of get the sense it's like a one night stand and he can't stop thinking about her because the lines before this talk about their bodies being entwined. It's not what I didn't feel, It's what I didn't show - I think he's trying to say he never outwardly showed how he felt about this girl. So now he's in misery because he can't stop thinking about it. |

| Bush – Swallowed Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
The song seems to be referring to being swallowed, or obsessed/addicted to something or someone. Could be drugs or women, or even both. The line about "boil it away" would seem to imply drugs. The lines about Sick Head and Blackened lungs would also imply the drugs are destroying his body. Love the lines: In the middle of a world on a fishhook You're the wave Basically you're being overwhelmed by whatever it is that's consuming you. |

| Maroon 5 – Sunday Morning Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song has gotta one of the best songs to listen to when you're feeling down. Ironically though, I do feel like there is a bit of sadness in it. The part where he sings, "And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew, That someday it would lead me back to you" seems to imply that he has lost the girl he was with and the song is remembering all the fun memories they shared. | |
| The Feeling – I Love It When You Call Lyrics | 13 years ago |

"I'm thinking were the kind that's got a tale on either side" should be "I'm flipping with a coin that's got a tail on either side" |

| Linkin Park – QWERTY Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The song is about a relationship with a computer keyboard. The title says it all. | |
| Deep Blue Something – Breakfast At Tiffany's Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| +1 for using the word pooper | |
| Kavinsky – Nightcall Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| lol @ the megatron comment. does make you wonder though how the song would have sounded if they just used a normal voice. | |
| Justin Timberlake – LoveStoned/I Think She Knows (Interlude) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Agreed. Starts out kind of trashy and just becomes something totally different by the end. He should have made the interlude a full song! | |
| Gin Blossoms – Hey Jealousy Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| it's a great question. i'm guessing an apology? | |
| Jet – Hold On Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I know I'm like a decade too late, but the lyrics are a bit off in the chorus. It should be: When all that you wanted And all that you had Don’t seem so much For you to hold on to [2x] For you to belong to |

| Maroon 5 – Harder To Breathe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song reminds me of when Maroon 5 was still a rock band. | |
| Muse – Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Frankly I don't care if people think this song is cheesy. The greatest bands have all written cheesy songs. (I wanna hold your hand, baby come on home, everything the beach boys wrote) This song is solid and as others have said, it is musically impressive especially compared to the other music out there today in the mainstream. Kudos to Muse. | |
| Incubus – Oil and Water Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
jewy you just blew my mind. "Babe this wouldn't be the first time It will not be the last time" this would seem to strengthen your argument, but then he goes on to say: "we tried to believe everything would get better" |

| Awolnation – Not Your Fault Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Song's about a tormented dude obsessed with someone and their rocky relationship. Clearly he doesn't think very highly of himself, but worships this chippie. She also seems to be quite a tease with the line "She still loves to dance with my punchlines". But the dude doesn't hold it against her because he says it's not your fault a million times in the song. | |
| The Police – Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| isn't this also kind of a sad song? it's basically saying he can't build up the courage to talk to her and also that it's always him that ends up getting wet, meaning he gets treated poorly. | |
| The Police – So Lonely Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| i think this song is about him being lonely. | |
| Maroon 5 – Infatuation Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I still think Maroon 5 are underrated. This song is a perfect example of why: a throw in track which is better than 90 percent of other artists' best songs. The jam session at the end of this song with the guitar solo and piano riff are awesome too. |

| Plain White T's – Rhythm of Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This song is so darn catchy. Essentially the song is a more romantic way of expressing the physical act of love, i.e. sex. "Till the morning sun, you're mine" Doesn't get more obvious than that. Really well written and sung though. |

| this is poetry right here. | |
| Clipse – Famlay Freestyle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Now this right here is some real hip hop. Famlay kills this and another monster beat from the Neptunes. | |
| Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This is to me not only the best song of ATS, but is LP's best song ever. Just amazing, amazing lyrics and the melody created from Mike's rap verse and Chester's singing is awesome. As far as the theme of the song, it reminds me a lot of 1984 and the ominous end of a relationship. There seems to be external forces forcing the end and a lot of chaos surrounding it as well. (The entire first verse of the song relates to Winston and Julia's being discovered for those of you who have read the book.) Just a great song. |

| Gin Blossoms – Until I Fall Away Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's cool to see so many 90's kids representing. It's a representation of how good 90's music was when you consider the Gin Blossoms were sort of an afterthought of the times, yet they are better than a lot of the new artists of today. Regarding this song, it has such a great tone and ambiance to it. It just mellows me out whenever I put it on. The general theme of the song seems to be about questioning whether or not he'll find love again and a regret over a past relationship, not unlike "Hey Jealousy". Couple of lines sort of stand out to me: "My fear pretend that I'll never be in love again" - clearly a fear of anyone who has ever been a part of a bad breakup. "If it's all rusted and fade in the spot where we fell Where I thought I'd left behind It's loose now but we could try" - seems to be speaking to the one who he is separated from. Another pretty common thing after the breakup. Seems like the first verse is him thinking over their failed relationship and its demise while the second one he longs for it back. Just my two cents anyway. "Until I fall away, I won't keep you waiting long" -this line to me initially seemed like a morbid, suicide note. Though it could just be falling away in the sense of falling out of the relationship. Anyhow a great relic of 90's music. |
