Could you quote the lines which blame the victim ZinbobDan? He blames himself for every time he 'snaps' and he comments on the fact that they both abuse each other, never does he say "she was talking to this guy and I snapped and so it's okay". I'm not denying that his domestic abuse, and all domestic abuse, is abhorrent in all it's forms, but she's shouting and hitting him too. No, that doesn't in any way justify his abuse, but it's worth thinking about. |

Sexism works both ways, lots of men are abused in relationships too, it's just not as well publicized; in addition there are mutually abusive relationships. And that's not an excuse from an abusive man, it's just true. I'm not denying that male on female domestic violence might be more common, but don't over generalize. |
