walking tall.. ridding on the success of the band. being small... not actualy having much talent. its sad though... its sad to be claming hollow talent. its clearly about the drummer... not a very friendly song. clever tho. |

i think this song really is about a serial killer and his feeling towards his victims. its almost like morrissey is trying to offer an insight into a possible mind set for some serial killers. the person whos perception the song seems to be written from (the serial killer) seems to feel empathy/ slightly sickend for the person who im guessing is a prostitute in the song. "ill housed and ill advised your face is as mean as your life has been" she has to no home has been brought up badly and her bad life is shown on her face, witch is what the killer sees as he approches her thus justifying his actions to himself. then "crash into my arms, I WANT YOU, you dont agree but you dont refuse, i know you" she crashes into his arms because he has killed her (into my arms suggest some possible kind of sexual thrill or bitter need for close ness). you dont agree but you dont refuse- in the killers eyes she doesnt want to die but she seems so broken down she is just reluctantly resighned to the idea so she just lets it happen, not enough energy to fight him off. the he adds "i know you" the killer tells him self he know all about the victim and there sad life there for can live with him self killing them and justify his thrill. just one way of looking at the storry please feel free to tell me im completely wrong because i have no idea what im on about tbh. :) :) |
