another one of interpols views on satan or as i understand it, singing from the shoes of satan: let me explain... I dream of you draped in wires And leaning on the brake he's picturing your death As Ihe leads you with all the restless liars And dealers on the take down to hell while Watching this meeting hall (church) sweat and shake he'll take you on, he'll take us all on I am astride you with desire The fault line, no crutch, no stall And I can bind you with no ties Release, and watch you fall He is besides us though out our temptations and sins, he binds us to desire without physical ties, releases us to our own doings and watches us fall. because he's got this soul that's all fired up I teach you of death's desires Reflected in lakes As I lead you in a fearful file to a precipice of fate he teaches us the deadly sins that reflect in the lakes of hell and leads us down a road to break down and dissipate our faith. And I welcome you I welcome your sweet hearts That bleed and break he invites everyone of us. You're all mine - he's elated to have our souls. mine and yours. now i'm not a religious man but i grew up catholic/christian and this song is clearing a war chant for the devil. dark, beautiful and corrupt. i love it. lucifer was on his was to tell god that his love for us was not good and he was chased thrilled and altered for it. he caused damaged. he was used to loosing. lost to 'the undoing'. to the pure one, god, to loose - to win does not compare. lucifer thought god had great style, he admired him but will survive anyway. please please the place we're in now - he's in hell just like with certain other interpol songs this song is beautiful and very very dark. hence the brilliant and amazing song structure....at least that is was this song means to me. what else can be as beautiful and dark as a song about god/satan?
