To tell the truth i'm really puzzled by these lyrics.. I just keep looking at the sentence 'wear my boots of spanish leahter'.. Since that has to be a reference to the Dylan song which is about someone leaving a love behind. But on the other hand, when you look at the 2nd verse at the chorus it looks more like someone is seeing something in him which he is not.. but for her he would wanna try?? Still I am not from Barcelona, I am not even from Madrid. I am a native of the North folk And that can mess up any kid. Well if you could reinvent my name, well if you could redirect my day, I wanna be the King of Spain. |

@darjeeling I think he didn't write this song as a comment on his career.. Because at this point he was still working on setting his position as 'Voice of a generation'... So.. i would think it could be about Suzie.. But the song you mean is 'Ballad of a thin man' on the album Highway 61.. |

@sytch.. In general i think you are right.. Except for the 'he doesn't like love'.. I just think he can't love.. That is why the tears.. but that is just how his heart has learned it.. And i kinda thought the river might be life? And to your response on the hunt.. I noticed that too, but i just thought he didn't want to hurt the other person.. But this is the only way he know how to life.. |
