| I love this song, just because of how he has managed to totally attack those who do what the lyrics say, amazing! Thom you legend! | |

The song is about love lost, loss, seperation, segregation. The atmosphere of the song itself is rather sombre and deep. The lyrics suit what it feels like when stood at a loved ones funeral or death bed. "Im not here, this isn't happening" You don't want to be there, you just want to be as far away in a different world. The entire song reaks of seperation and want to be alone, departed from all company due to a sorrow of some sort. A beautiful song, but a sad one. Thom's voice is amazing in this track. Also "Liffey" is the River that runs through Dublin, Thom referenced this because of a dream he had. |
