this song is amazing... I can't help thinking of Fluorescent Adolescent throughout this song, especially when Alex sings "Don't worry I'm sure that you're still breaking hearts with the efficiency that only youth can harness" greatest "i'll never forget her" song ever... |

| to me Reckless Serenade is The Girl From Ipanema through Turner's mind, and may I say, it freaking rocks | |
| Arctic Monkeys – Piledriver Waltz Lyrics | 14 years ago |

"I etched the face of a stopwatch on the back of a raindrop And did a swap for the sand in an hourglass" I have this feeling that Turner, with his unpaired gift, just wanted to say the person was by a window, waiting for something, as the raindrops would slowly fall on the window, like when we watch time pass looking at sand falling in hourglasses... this is just a token, in my opinion, of how Alex humiliates a whole generation of composers with his lyrics... |

OK, after a couple of hours, this is what I came out with... Tell me what happened Tell me what happened Tell me what happened If you like Get off on the same floor Get off on the same floor Get off on the same floor Every night What are the reasons What are the reasons What are the reasons To fit in I wanna tell you I wanna tell you I wanna tell you Nothin' You're right on Anytime Never once Anyday now (this part is slurred, not sung... we'll figure it out in live shows) I'm done with the office I'm done with the office I'm done with the office Hello, forest I still want to ask you I still want to ask you I still want to ask you Something more You're right on Anytime Never once Anyday now I don't want to fight Don't wanna pick You any... I don't want to fight Don't wanna pick You any... I don't want to fight Don't wanna pick You anymore I dont wanna argue I dont wanna argue I dont wanna argue I think you want Why would I hurt you? Why would I hurt you? Maybe I'd hurt you If I could |

ok, i'm not really good at interpreting, but to me... I believe the lyrics aren't about relationship. maybe 'thieves and snakes need homes' impressed me, but i still think it's about jailtime I did not take to analysis So I had to make up my mind and hold it for a while - he did a thing he didn't really think through It starts to feel like a barricade To keep us away, to keep us away - prisons are supposed to be corrective facilities, but instead, are home of hate and violence. who goes in, comes out (and they always come out) worse, and are barricaded from society I could not lean on the politics 'Cause I didn't want to train my eye to hold so short a time - here i'm kinda confused, but i think it's about trying to find a breach in the politics so he can get bailed out, but he is unwilling to do it for he would know he would be sort of lying... (kinda confusing, sorry) Oh so high, just don't know where the blind could lead the sightless But I still like to witness - also kind of messy here... i'd say he stays in jail and witnesses the warden running the jail in such a sadistic way that he is as wrong as the prisoners Full speed, half blind Full tilt, decline We turn to past times Full speed, half blind - finally... when the convicted come out, they go 'full speed', but still 'half blind', they start tilting due to that, and finally decline, turning to past times of crime anyways, to me it's about the vicious cycle prisons make... because a guy who committed a stupid mistake shouldn't be raped and abused in jail |
