"Now we mean it in our homes where we're sleeping We call it mattresses underwater but the gutters are seeping" Think about where you lay your head at night, on a mattress. When I am alone in bed thats when I think the most about God. There are no pressures of the world pulling me away from him... just time to think about him and talk with him. Its a time that I can be honest with myself and yet I continue to lie to myself because I know what is good but i continue to do bad. God flooded the earth because of how sinful his creation had become. One of our biggest struggles with God is that we love sin, we love what makes our bodies feel good.... Anyways Now we mean it in our homes where we're sleeping : most personal time with God when we say we are sorry and blah blah blah (hearts are heavy and mind is racing, fear of going to hell takes over) and yet we wake up the next day and slip away from God into the world once again. We call it mattresses underwater : A lot of us tell God we are sorry for what we have done but we just cant help it... the water is the world (sin) that we believe is keeping us from being one with him but the gutters are seeping : the gutters are seeping out water... if we are underwater then the gutters are at the top meaning that there is a way out of sin. There is a way to God, we just have to stop lying to ourselves... but as humans we are unable to fully understand God and his love so we will always be drowning in sin although there is a way out. |
