It may very well be about a man in love. And waiting for this woman to let go of everything. But personally, it means something completley different. To me it shows someone else letting go, not into a relationship. But from one. Into independence. "Well all I need is the air I breathe And a place to rest my head" "Do you know what your fate is And are you trying to shake it You're doing your best and You're best look You're praying that you'll make it" I think he's saying Do you know your future? Are you trying to control it? You're doing your best you can, I bet you're hoping you succeed in controlling everything. "Do you know where your heart is Do you think you can find it Did you trade it for something, somewhere Better just to have it" He's saying Do you know where you put your passion? Can you find it? Or did you give it all away for something to get it back in return? "Do you know where your love is Do you think that you lost it You felt it so strong but nothings Turned out how you want it" He's saying What happened to the relationship? You think you ruined it, it wasn't your fault. You wanted it, you loved him/her. You really did. But it just wasn't right. | Actually I think this song is about two people. They glance at each other, the recognized who one another is while they are leaving. I'm guessing they were friends, (I think this because it's happened to me before) best friends who got in a fight for some reason, moved on, and completely forgot about each other. But in that split moment the singer reminisced on everything. I guess the best memory was taking a car perhaps stolen, haha, getting in a fight and taking someone's money. You know how kids are. Kinda reminds me of like...The Outsiders, the greaser. But all grown up, seeing a friend. And wondering what the hell ever happened. | |
