its about how people who abuse their wives or significant other makes excuses for themselves for why they did it. When hes rapping, its like a conversation an abuser would have with his wife, "i guess i just dont know my own strength" is something someone making an excuse would say, when in reality he meant to hurt her. |

well because of what the songs talking about, and given the title "Gears". I believe it is about how the government is manipulating everyone to do what they want, "Oh the feeling of being machines." How they are wearing us out, and making us mindless corporate zombies "Our gears are wearing down to nothing because of you."
Or is it possible that it doesnt have a deeper meaning than what i had once thought, he mentions being torn inside and depressed, perhaps this has nothing to do with the government at all and just a specific person, in order to really know, i would like some feedback or other thoughts on the song.

i know its a popular thing for artists to write about, but people, dont interpret everying they say to be about them "on tour all the time and missing home/girlfriends" i dont think that everysong these guys write about is about missing home and shit. Granted this song does say "were young and in love, heart attacks waiting to happen, so come a little closer, tell me those 3 little words" so obviously it does have something to do with a girl, but i doesnt necessarily mean that its about them on tour all the time. I hate how theres always one person that comes to that conclusion even when the song would have nothing to do with that, theres always one idiot that writes. "its about them being on tour and missing all their friends and missing home" plz read the lyrics thoroughly before coming to this conclusion. |
