I agree with SwimFan4her... To me, this song is almost written to himself. Like he is referring to Jack's Mannequin, his solo identity. Though i know the song is referencing his friend who had previously had cancer I still think there is a double meaning there. It becomes especially obvious when he says "I, I had songs for you I had all your music written out," meaning he had big plans for Jack's Mannequin that he fears will never happen because of his cancer. It also makes sense since his album was already near finish and release right when he found out about his cancer. |
