I like the thoughts everyone has about this song, they pretty much jibe with what I have thought over the years. I've been listening to Sublime since the mid '90s and I immediately felt this song was about Brad's struggle with heroin. My thought on the T & D was always geared towards the common phrase from my generation (I'm in the same age group as Brad) of having the DT's. DeTox is the feeling you get after a drinking binge, or in this case the heroin DT's. Simply rearranged for the rhyme. |
