The song is about the "seasons of love" and how they change. I agree with Journey and Vivy it's a look back at high school when innocence and essence of our love relationships are IDEALIZED. This song came out during my senior year in high school. My girl friend and I used to count down the days of 4-years of college that were ahead of us and then we would get married. This song is about one night stand UNTIL the last lyric line "Can't find the reasons why I love you." The evoking of the word "love" suggests something slightly more complex than a one night stand.
