I think my 'favorites' says it all, really. Hehehe. It's a bit... eclectic, shall we say? Well, there you go, my personality quite mimics my musical taste. :P

Actually, nemoman, your lyrics are not correct. ALMOST, but not quite. You have the second line as, "Feed the fire till my soul *breathes* free," when it is, in fact, as pallidity posted, "Feed the fire till my soul *breaks* free." |

This song is basically my personal anthem at the moment. My (recent) ex-boyfriend was NEVER abusive at all, but I met him while studying abroad and our cultures frequently clashed... quite tremendously, sometimes. That's what the general negative theme of the lyrics correspond to in my life. I literally embody the following lyrics in every physical way, shape, and form(heh): "I'm difficult Hard to please Forever changing my mind I'm a mess in a dress Can't show up on time Even if it would save my life" and "I'm boring I'm moody And you can't take me any place According to you I suck at telling jokes cause I always give it away I'm the girl with the worst attention span You're the boy who puts up with that" The 'stupid/useless/can't do anything right' "version" of me is simply an issue of a very long distance and extreme culture differences. He's never actually thought those things of me, but stuff that I think is completely normal is usually crazy and sometimes flat out inappropriate to him. Now, for the "him," this is where it gets interesting. I DO have a "him" to go along with this song, but he happens to be my best friend and thus all of the lyrics take on a completely platonic meaning. Honestly, this guy is like my long lost twin brother; we're exactly alike in almost EVERY way (except he's good with math >.>), we're both artistic and musical, we're both compassionate to a fault, hell, we actually have the same origins of ancestry(German on dad's side, Puerto Rican on mom's) and were born only four days apart. We're basically the same person in both the male and female version. This is why in my opinion, I don't have much of an issue with the last line. I do still love my ex-boyfriend, and I know he still has feelings for me, we just couldn't figure out how to work out our culture differences. Also, on a side note, my alternative theory for the last line is that it's meant to be mocking the original bf because he simply can't appreciate her, and when it all comes down to it, he's the one that's missing out. ... ::finishes novel:: ::whistles innocently:: Heh.... :P |

Perfect voice for an amazing song from an epic series. Nothing bad could possibly be said of this song. Honestly. |

| ^^This is like my theme song. I live in the US and my boyfriend lives in Scotland, so every time I hear this song I think of him. | |

Every time I hear this song I want to build a bonfire, dress up in my corset, and just dance around it until I drop. It's such a fun song, it's addicting. Even my bf has "taken a shine to it," and he's not particularly fond of the band at all. He always pouts and makes stupid faces when I play their music. Hehehe... he'll have to learn to live with it. Just sounds like an epic tavern song, really. Always reminds me of scenes from movies like Beowulf or Outlander. <3 |

| ^^it's in a Phrygian mode. I'm not sure which key, but it's a minor Phrygian, without a doubt. Generally when you hear a song with a kind of Middle Eastern theme it's in Phrygian, lots of gypsy sounding songs are, as well. | |

I just have this fantastic image in my head of Emilie and the crew on stage in an epic vamp club with everyone rocking out to this song. Although, I always hear the Manipulator Remix in this scene. I have mixed feelings about that remix... I LOVE the instrumentation to it and how it added just a little bit of substance with the extra harmonics from the bass line, but I wish the lyrics weren't just repetitive the whole time. It would have been nice if it had used ALL the lyrics.... Anyway, like I said, call me a sheep if you may, but I will stand my ground on this topic. I did it before it was in and I'll continue when it goes back out. |

Do us all a favor and go look up the definition of the word "opinion" before you try to berate someone for having one. kthxbai Oh, and I find it terribly amusing that instead of bashing Slashher and their quite obviously ridiculous, nonsensical, and blatantly sarcastic post, you chose to go after those who attempted their own LEGITIMATE interpretations. |

God I love this song. It's like an addiction, seriously. ANYHOW, it seems when it begins in the first verse to be a song of lament, like she is longing for a lost love. Then in the second verse her male counterpart, instead of disputing (as men often do), acknowledges her feelings. His word choice makes it appear as though her love and devotion for him was what pushed him away in the sense that it "scared" him (also common in typical men--commitment issues). The third verse just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. LOL. They've both given in to their love for each other, no matter the cost. |

| Flyleaf – Treasure Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I find it interesting that the people commenting on the 'Yeshua' line of the lyrics neglected to point out the fact that she even takes a breath in the middle of the word. So really, whomever speculated that she was actually saying "yes, 'shua" seems to be the closest on target. But, as has also already been stated several times, Flyleaf is rather notorious for having ample double meanings for not only phrases but words. So I suppose we'll never really know. | |

| I'm not even going to go into all the different meanings this song could have because, frankly, there are WAY too many. Instead, I will digress straight to the fact that this song would make the basic foundations for a really bitchin' vampire book(or movie)! Call me a sheep if you want, I don't care, because I was reading/writing vampire books before it was the "cool" thing to do, and I refuse to stop just because it's become cliché. | |
