Interesting though that once RHCP and Feild-of-dick-Feildis (or however you spell that shit's name) basically broke up Mr. B. the respected bands all say that "Mr. Bungle is dead, and no-one wishes to revive it." Everyone he went to high-school with has died. Dunn did fucker! |

| Mr. Bungle – Waltz For Grandma's Sake Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This perfectly describes a child's awkward relationship with their grandparents. As children, we try to learn things from them, but the more they tell us things the more we find the stories change as other stories mix together and other people's stories mix in with theirs. So, we naturally try to shrug it off politely; just like we try to shrug off their cooking when they get the recipe wrong. "Awake nervous that we'll meet" could be an allusion to the eventuality of death and the possibility of an afterlife; and the lines following that are a child's protests to going to see their grandparents. The lines after that are pretty much redundant; the times have changed but the well aged wish it weren't so and such. the 'dance' could be an allusion to the whole act of convincing the child to go to the grandparent's house. |
