First off, marijuana is a mildly hallucinogenic drug. It depends on the person and the dose. Second, the whole point of this song is that marijuana is the only major drug that's not addictive. Nicotine, alcohol, and even caffeine are all addictive, as well as almost every illegal drug. Marijuana has no physical addiction potential. Why, then, do many people seem to smoke weed all the time? It's because being high can be a convenient escape from real life for a while. People become mentally addicted by using marijuana to constantly run away from their problems. That's what this song is about... not doing that. "Do you believe, when you're high, that your life is tried?" is just what it says... a question about whether your life has problems, and whether you realise this when you're stoned. If you do, you can become 'stuck in the sky'... in a situation where you'd rather be high all the time than deal with your problems. It's not addressed in the song, but it is hinted at in the liner notes... This mental addiction is probably the only reason marijuana is illegal today, realistically. Look at how many people abuse alcohol and other drugs as an escape. |

This song is mostly about the world and how things work when serj sings the first part "look at each other, go away" Thats just the moody stupidness of man kind. In the second part when serj sings "mutually, mentally molested children of a mother. Mutually mentally molested children of sin" He means that people are MENTALLY molested in other words brainwashed. Like how when children all over the world get raised to beleive in whatever there Family and society believes in. This is mutual to because the family went through the same thing.that is only one example. after that serj says " the ever so popular beating that took you under, the ever so popular beating that broke your skin" This is just when a person gets sick of all the influences that took him under, the same influence made him break out of the brainwash. Anyway when he says "Free thinkers are dangerous. Blame, hate, for fates seed" I believe he is just mocking the government.The government that brain washes people to blame and hate free thinkers for what fate already had planned out.then the next verse is about loving the ones you need obviously but then you still love the ones that hurt you because you need them. Like people that love there country need there country, even though the country can sometimes hurt them. In many different ways, like war,economy and so on. Its just saying that you stay with someone or something because you need it. The last part is tricky, I think it is meaning the rebellious part of each generation, and at the very end when he says "look at each other" again he means the cycle is starting over with a new generation. |

While most of you are accurate about darons friend. the song is named soil. because soil is what bring forths life. daron does not blame his friend for his decision. "A man can't avoid what he's meant to do, When he's meant to do it, Even if he doesn't really want to," and the bottom line of this song is Don't you realize, "Evil, lives in the mother-fucking skin" most people think of evil as ghosts dark figures demons and the like. but the truth is. and I'm going to say it the most evil are mankind/ "Don't you realize, Evil, lives in the mother-fucking skin" instead its the soil he was raised in. that were all raised in. hollywood is some nasty soil for sure. |

'Smart people outsmarting each other' means that people are in competition to be the best no matter what. 'Then themselves' is referring to people fooling themselves. "All the life running through her hair," Wires hooked up to her head represented metaphorically as life since her life now exists through the Matrix like reality. "Approaching guiding light," - Light used to illuminate the surgical area for the implant. "Our shallow years in fright," - Her mind is afraid of losing her past, which at her young age are a few years or "shallow years" "Dreams are made winding through my head," He too has undergone the government implants which compose a dreamlike reality. "Through my head, Before you know, Awake," - Before you know it the implants are in and you are "awake" which really means you are still asleep with no memory of what has happened to you. "Your lives are open wide," - They scanned your memory during the operation and continue to read your mind using the implant. "The V-chip gives them sight," - see above... "The spiders all in tune," - The nano implants are all synchronized and working properly and together for their purpose...also they weave the dreams or reality you know experience. "Through my head, Before you know, Awake (SOLO) Through my head, Before you know, Before you know I will be waiting all awake," - All awake meaning you will know the truth... "Dreams are made winding through her hair, Dreams are made winding through her hair." - this is all explained...to sum it up a woman is basically placed inside a Matrix like reality while the scientist or government agents (all this is seen in the video) study her. The dreams are made by the implants in her head. You can clearly see the wires hooked up to her in the video. Her levitation symbolized that human potential we all have to rise above this and over come what the government is trying to do to control us. This make sense for everyone? |

I think the song is about religion being used to control the masses. More specifically, about a peticular, unamed religion created by a group of people to control them, but the religion is completely made up of lies. "watching, from a post up high" could be about how these people are watching the people they control. "if you are the light post, then you own the working class" I think the lightpost symbolizes the group who created the religion, it gives a guidinglight, but you can't see where it guides you. Also, the light was created by man, it isn't a natural light. The working class could be the people they control. "warning, post hypnotic suggestions, running the ships ashore" these "post hypnotic suggestions" might represent some farfetched ideas the lightpost tries to teach the working class, but some people don't believe these lies, these non-believers are the ships, they are being brought "ashore" by these crazy ideas "the orange light that follows, will soon proclaim itself a god" I think the orange light is supposed to represent the leader of the ships, who actually plans to rule them, by proclaiming itself a god "but if you want the answers, you better get ready for the fire" this could be saying that if you try to find out the truth behind the lightposts, you will be destroyed "the ships are multiplying day after day sir, and theyre coming close to the shore sir, shore sir, we need to evacuate the light post, its all over, its all over ~~ its all over." this seems to be saying that more people are seeing the lies told to them by the lightpost, and are becomg ships and attacking the lightpost. The lightpost must be evacuated because they can no longer control the working class. Apparently, the ships take over the lightpost and become dominant, but the orange light starts "proclaiming itself a god" and telling its own lies to the ships, who now become the new working class. |

If this song is about anything, this song is about drug use, as its lyrics feature a number of major drug references. Startign with the title, 'Sugar' is a common nickname for methamphetamines (crystal meth), even recognised by (for example) Utah's Attorney General (http://attorneygeneral.utah.gov/Meth/methterminology.htm). One of the undesirable side-effects of prolonged use of crystal meth (sugar) is amphetmine psychosis. The lyrics of the song suggest a range of psychotic behavior (for example, the lines "My girl, you know, she lashes out at me sometimes/ And I just kick her", "I got a gun the other day from Sako/ It's cute, small, fits right in my pocket/ Yeah, right in my pocket, (sugar)" (note though that the 'gun' may also be interpreted as the 'sugar' which will fire the bullet called life), "I sit, in my desolate room, no lights, no music/ Just anger!/ I've killed everyone", etc.), and its denial (for example "and then she's O.K., she's O.K.". Mixed in with these are the delusional hallucinations associated with amphetamine psychosis (for example "People are always chasing me down/ Trying to push my face to the ground/ Where all they really want to do/ Is suck out my mother f**king brains/ my brains (sugar)", "You know that every time I try to go/ Where I really want to be/ It's already where I am/ 'cause I'm already there", and even the chorus line "The kombucha mushroom people/ Sitting around all day/ Who can believe you/ Who can believe you/ Let your mother pray" - is the person using the sugar deluded into seeing 'mushroom people'?). Another undesirable side-effect fo prolonged methamphetamine use is death ("I play Russian roulette everyday/ a man's sport /with a bullet called life /yeah called life,(sugar)". Clearly, the song equates 'sugar' with playing 'russian roulette' (a game where players take turns at putting a gun loaded with a single round up to their head and pulling the trigger). As for the rest of the song, according to Wikipedia, "Kombucha is the Western name for a fermentation of sweetened tea using lactobacilli and yeast cultures." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha). Now we can either - like I said earlier - interpret this as the singer deluded into fantasies of witnessing people made up of Kombucha mould sitting around doing nothing, or alternatively a reference to consuming narcotics mixed with kombucha tea and then (either stoned or depressed - a symptom of prolonged amphetamine use is depression) sitting around all day doing nothing (i.e. The singer is the kombucha mushroom person). The song could be interpreted as a narrative of a person in a delusional state recounting how they were at first cautious about the 'sugar' ("Well I'm not there all the time you know/ Some people, some people, some people/ call it insane, yeah they call it insane"), moving on to the psychotic fantasies and delusions, the person being locked in an assylum or jail ("I'm away forever") - perhaps receiving treatment ("but I'm feeling better") - after they have committed violent acts while lashing out at these hallucinations, and perhaps committing suicide ("In the end it all goes away") at the end. "Let your mother pray" for them. |

| it's political. The title, Suite means a company of followers and Pee (Pea)means bill, or draft of a law presented for enactment. At the beginning, he says he has an outer body experience and HER name is Jesus (Justice) and for everyone cried, everyone during this period was pleading or demanding justice. Of course, people try and die for justice. '"Crossed and terrored..." is lied to and made to fear and "ravages of architecture, lend me ty blades..." is the destructive actions of the governement (arcitechture is referred to as the style and method design and constrcution, which is basically what the government's aim is....)To hoist around the spade is to lift up (or support)either the politian (spade means to "speak bluntly") or war (spade is also a gun trail). I'm still trying to udnerstand the lying naked on the floor part..still haven't gotten it...and f--king your way through the garden is the same as leading up or down a garden path, or to decieve or mislead in an enticing way...just like politicians do....you can take that or take the song as a LSD trip...LSD is known as Jesus Christ. | |
