This song is about Lucifer's rebellion and the war between Heaven and Hell. As well as the love between an Angel and Vampire. Once again this is a song sung by an Angel to HIS Vampire lover. Yes, I think the guy is actually the Angel and the Girl is the Vampire. This book of love is a final gift, dramatic in its virtue It's a beating heart I made for you Ten razors buried bones And a kiss that tastes like violence Blue sand shadows look from above, yeah We're not alone The dead will rise again 'It's a beating heart I made for you' -- Seeing as she's a vampire (apart of the walking dead) her heart never beats. & the title alone confirms that it's a song for someone who's died (requiem def. (Music, other) any piece of music composed or performed as a memorial to a dead person or persons) so it's used as a sort of metaphor. Show me why we won't let go and we still must pray This is our lovers' requiem As wings unfold, just breathe for me... The angel is trying to save his dying love, and is searching for a sign that God is truly merciful ('...and why we still must pray') showing the his faith in God is wavering In freaks below, a savage plot of golden dust And chariots of liars, a course of waiting for existence Sin's bleeding cast has struck a nerve Sin's bleeding hand has filled the lakes For you and me a war has just begun A sharpened sword, ice and cuts And laughing dolls, tonight they live again This illustrates Lucifer and his followers plotting to destroy the 'key' also known as Earth thus destroying human beings, since he despised the reason why they were created in the first place. ('In freaks below, a savage plot of gold and dust; And chariots of liars -> fallen angels) & now a war has begun between the Angels and Demons making the Angel and Vampire "enemies" Show me why we won't let go and we still must pray This is our lovers' requiem As wings unfold, just breathe for me... Oh heaven's gate will cast a shadow The last line ('Oh, Heaven's gate will cast a shadow') is pretty simple. The gates of Heaven are opening as the Archangel Michael lead's God's Army from Heaven to Earth in order to battle the Devil and his Demons. Truth, forgiveness still and cold a secret little garden she built Sold for beauty in disguise, sweet hide away from never, from the never never Now... the devil has stolen the key It tastes like skin and bone, fire It took me a bit to figure out what this was talking about, but I think this is solely about the Angel's Vampire Lover and her past. He's telling her the truth about her past and who she was. '...a secret little garden' is most likely referring to the Garden of Eden and the Vampire was once Eve. The devil tricked her into eating the forbidden fruit, telling her to disregard God and saying that she would in fact live if she ate it and not die -- referring to the tree now as the 'tree of life' and making her now immortal and cast away from God (hence the vampirism) The 'key' that's being referred to in the second to last line is talking about Life itself. Because of the Devil and the war, Earth could no longer sustain life, thus leading to him taking the "key" |

First of all it's: 'Forgive the Leper King and the Hangman's gallows' (not Leopard xD) This whole song is about a Vampire and Angel in love and their love being jeopardized due to the war between Heaven and Hell. But I think a lot of people are slightly misinterpreting something. The guy is actually the Angel while the girl is really the Vampire. "Fortunes and Hades are the last hope... Swallow. Forgive the LEPER King and the hangman's gallows. Shark people wear shark clothes. The bite was ugly as sin, But we were ready, Disguised of malice stone." The first two lines are the ANGEL saying that he doesn't believe there's any hope for them, & he knows that in the end either one or both of them is going to die, so he's telling his lover to brace herself (hence the 'swallow'). I believe the Leper King is refering to the Devil since to be a leper means to be an outcast and the Devil was outcasted from Heaven. & naturally 'hangman's gallows' is talking about executions (by hanging) so he's trying to tell the VAMPIRE that she needs to forgive the Devil's cruelty. Our friend Lazarus sleeps. Her lips shake with every... With every word. You were my favorite. We both know our love will never end. Conform me in... Into the wicked; Into the fallen mass grave. Four-legged dancers. 'Conform me in...Into the fallen mass grave' is basically the ANGEL asking his VAMPIRE lover to 'conform' or change him (make him evil -- therefore change him into a vampire) so they can join each other. I'm not too sure of what the 'Four-legged dancers' are though.. Silence the Spider Queen and watch her eyes glow. Inside the fake I seek, And I'll burn this halo. Shark people wear shark clothes. I don't know what the spider queen is representing but 'Inside the fake I seek, And I'll burn this halo' the ANGEL is once again confirming that he is willing to turn from God in order to be with his VAMPIRE. Just listen to these words I speak. The devil wants me dead, And the dark angels want your soul. But I will never ever let them have you; I will never let you go. Pretty self-explainitory. Naturally the Devil wants the Angel dead and want his Vampire's soul due to her betrayal (of loving the enemy) You were my favorite. We both know our love will never end. Conform me in... Into the wicked; Into the young. And this just confirms that he's willing to change to the other said and join is lover as a Vampire ('Conform me in...Into the wicked; Into the young) |
