the lyrics seem to talk of a person who has been labelled evil and horrible, but this charater wants ppl to know that he is still a human like everyone else (But my dreams, they aren't as empty as my cinsience seems to be)
The bridge shows the man he can be, the man he has been to be shunned from society, and he acknowledges this and only wants somebody to help him keep his anger in check.
Song-wise, this is probably The Who's best, the drum intro at the bridge is so amazing and has so much energy.... if i could learn 2 play one song on drum and perform it, i would perform this one.
