I would love it if (during her live shows) Gaga would get someone on stage and take a pic of them during this song and then post it on her twitter. She would get so much love for it. She already calls fans; I would save that number (hell, it would be in meh head) |

modelmaterial: That is a very good interpretation. Cool!
Doda: Most songs don't match their videos. The only video that I saw by Lady Gaga directly match the lyrical content is 'Alejandro'. She uses a LOT of symbolism and its hard to realize, but its there ;) |

The song rationalizes Def Jam Records as "paper gangsta's" For the lyrical content, she also references Diamond Words turned into some ice. This could mean Def Jam Records gave her some good deals, but just never came through. to me, this song has absolutely nothing to do with men. Not much left 'cept lyrical content. |

This song is talking about not only a girl who wants to turn the lights off because of her body, but also because of one's other insecurities. It could also represent a gay man or woman's ability to hide in the closet or dance in the dark. Thats what I do. I come out at night with a vampire grin. Alot of people don't like me because im a male bisexual. So i happily dance in the dark, with no one knowing. Also, its 'make it stop' official lyric booklet. |

I thought that this song was simply talking about men and sex _ but its not. This song has a deeper meaning. Its talking about a gay man's struggle to comply with modern day religion and the church and still have a strong faith. Sing the lyrics from a gay man's point of view. He is praying to God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost (Alejandro, Roberto, Fernando) telling him not to come back into his lives because he beleives that the modern day church (every she and her in the song) represents God (Alejandro) and they don't. They represent secular judgment among non - christians, not God. So the singer (gay man) is conflicted. Should he still love Alejandro, Fernando, and Roberto (God) or should he turn his back on them. The first verse talks about how the church is so hypocritical. The second verse talks about how he (Alejandro or God)is their dad and how he wont help them out with everything. He's gotta firefight (take the blame) and God has to take the blame for secular hypocritical christians or catholics. Therefore, she is representing how God still loves her even if she's bisexual and how even if she turns her back on him (Don't call my name or I'm not your babe) he still loves her. |

my interpretation is that she has to choose, her fame or her love, where it be her family friends or boyfriends (hence the lyrics "i wanna kiss you, but if i do then i might miss you") Those lyrics simply say tht she will miss him if she has to leave or something because of her fame. she has to choose and she's at a crossroads, but yes it does have a sexual backgrownd. Im guessin she wrote this song right before she became famous.... |

my favorite song off of THE FAME... i think paparazzi is talkin about how she hates the media, magazines tv etc, but another interpretation is that she could love her boyfriend so much to want to stalk him no matter where he goes, either meaning i think is pretty good |

ok, first of all, this is my 2nd favorite song off THE FAME, 2nd, watch the Barbara Walters interview with her, her self proclaimed meaning is the following: She is bisexual... she loves men but when she's is with them, she dreams about women, but doesn't want her boyfriend to catch on, it even explains that throughout the music video.. |
