Other meanings aside, this song seems to be alluding to Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy, particularly in these lines: - "Wrong just seems so right" reflects the idea of non-duality. - "Don't run, don't rush. Just flow" reflects the idea of finding harmony, and how we are just part of a constant flux of changing. - "But you're really just a little girl / playing in the park til the sun goes down" seems like an existential statement, saying our purpose is little more than to just live life 'til the sun goes down.' Of course, the sun will rise again, i.e., reincarnation. - "Sometimes you want to rise. One did, it's our desire" if they are the correct lyrics, seems like a clear allusion to the Buddha himself, and his "rising" or achieving nirvana. However, the use of the word 'desire' is sort of anti-Buddhist, in that the Buddha preached the cessation of desire. |
