I think Cannikin is right that "sister" is just a generic form of address, like "baby". I always assumed that "sister golden hair surprise" stands for the next cute blonde the singer meets. That is, she will be a surprise to him because he doesn't even know her yet. The song says "I was all set to marry my girlfriend but I can't stop dreaming about that next girl I'm going to meet, so I guess I shouldn't be getting married" The word "you" is sometimes used to refer to his girlfriend, but it is also sometimes used to refer to that other girl, whoever she will be. |
